This bronze octopus had a flaw in the casting process so he ended up with a little hold that I just couldn't work out a nice way to repair. 

He sat around in my studio for years and then finally last week I had the genius idea of welding little copper discs to him using silver solder. 

Honestly, I now think he is the perfect octopus, the integration of different metals and acid has made this splendid camouflage patina and I couldn't be happier.
